A beginner in mushroom cultivation may have lots of doubts. What if the cultivation goes in vain? What if the farm does not produce fresh mushrooms as expected? How to take care of mushroom farm? So, the list of questions never ends.

What will be the best solution to get rid of these questions other than getting trained? Understanding the difficulties of a mushroom farmer through our own experience, we always wanted to help and support anyone who steps into mushroom cultivation.

The training on mushroom cultivation and value-added products enables the farmers with the right knowledge and skills to take care of their farms in the most efficient way. The training also provides various methods which will help them improve the farm production or harvest.

About Our Trainers

Shije Thankachan and TJ Thankachan, Managing Director and Director of TMJ Foods (India) Private Limited respectively, lead the training sessions. An award-winning mushroom farmer, Shije has undergone various struggles on her way to becoming one of the most successful mushroom farmers today.

She started mushroom cultivation in 2007. She had to face various challenges in the initial days of her mushroom cultivation. Later she underwent training at the Indian Institute of Horticulture Research, Bangalore. Starting with just six beds, today she is one of the best women mushroom farmers in the state. Her farming is supported by the Kerala Agricultural University and backed by the State Agriculture Department and Horticulture Mission.

Shije has won a number of awards at local, regional, district, state and national levels for her outstanding contribution to the growth of mushroom farming and cultivation.

Shije is rightly supported by husband TJ Thankachan who is an Agri-enthusiast and HR Professional by profession. He heads the research and development and remains keen on developing new innovative ideas and products out of mushroom.

Mode of Training

Both online and offline modes are available for training. Those who are nearby can attend the offline mode at Coonfresh’s home as it will enable them to see and experience the mushroom cultivation.
